"Black Queen"

Many Black Women but not enough Black Queens
We are Settling for less, Not even asking for a ring

Settling for what men give us, Taking the treatment they think we are Worthy of
When really our Worth is much more ,than what we Settle for and call it "Love"

Trying to be that Strong Mom and Stand tall as that Black Woman
Forgetting who we are are in the midst, Before we know it...we start running

Running from who we are, Trying to be something we are not
Changing ourselves for another, Caught in the center of a melting pot

A Glance in the mirror, "Where is that Black Queen?"
Shes' lost patience in waiting, decided to do her own thing

Instead of waiting to see what God has layed aside
So many of make our own way, getting caught up in the selfishness of Pride

Allowing Life's fates to determine who we are and where we will End up
Forgetting the strength women possess, not digging inside ourselves deep enough

When we are Completely Positive of our Worth and Truly confident in who we are
Only then...will we achieve the life that is waiting for us, it's no longer a far

Life will change us in many ways, always show us different things
But at the End of it all, We must evolve into that "Black Queen"
